Wood Green and Alexandra Palace

LFA 2024 Area Focus:

Wood Green and Alexandra Palace

Wood Green is leading the way in how town centres can be reimagined with arts, community, culture, youth space, heath and homes sitting alongside independent and major retailers. We’ve been on a journey to coproduce our vision for the area ‘Shaping Wood Green’ with our local communities. Together we’ve reimagined places and spaces building on the character and diversity of the people of live and work here.

With a bustling metropolitan town centre, vibrant culture and food scene and the iconic Alexandra Place, Wood Green has something for everyone. This includes the iconic Alexandra Palace, which has been providing entertainment and recreation for over 150 years. Today, Ally Pally is run by a charity, which continues to restore and repurpose the Park and Palace to enable everyone to experience inspirational culture, unique heritage, creative and educational opportunities and restorative green space.

Join us at the London Festival of Architecture to explore our colourful murals, thriving creative workspaces, heritage buildings and youth hub  with a large dose of innovative retrofit.

“We are delighted to be part of the London Festival of Architecture, this year’s theme of ‘Reimagine’ could not be more fitting for us. Adapting and growing has been fundamental to how Ally Pally has continued to serve the city for over 150 years, while the ongoing challenge of reimagining all that we offer, is as essential now than arguably ever before.

“We are particularly pleased to be partnering with Haringey Council, it’s an exciting chance to showcase our local culture and the sustainable and people-led initiatives that are being used to shape the borough in 2024 and into the future.

“We look forward to June and the opportunity to share ideas and innovations with festival participants from London and beyond.”

Emma Dagnes, CEO at Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust
