Competitions

The LFA has a tried-and-tested model of running architectural competitions. Over the years LFA Competitions have helped deliver some of the most striking and impressive projects in London.

We run design competitions with various partners for interventions ranging from permanent improvements to the public realm to temporary festival pop ups. These installations are one of the exciting ways which the LFA can create positive change in the city. By posing design challenges and giving public projects to emerging designers these competitions support young talent, and create space to test out new ideas for long term improvement in the public realm.

These competitions have helped launch the careers of many emerging architects and designers, helping them deliver a high-profile commission early in their practice.

Our ‘Open Call’ model means that anyone with a passion for architecture and a good idea can propose a project or event for the LFA which can radically open up the discussion around architecture and our city.

For local authorities, cultural institutions and other clients, these competitions can help improve the public realm, test new ideas or deliver an amazing architectural intervention whilst harnessing the best architectural talent.

LFA competitions are part of Collaborate by NLA – London’s built environment community. To find out more about us, visit nla.london here.
