The catholic church in the centre of Chislehurst will be transformed, for one night only, into its original guise of a cinema in the 1930's. It’s described as the most comfortable church in Chislehurst as the old cinema seats are still in situ! For this one night only the community can step back in time to feel they are back at ‘the flicks’.
Enjoy the comfort of the original cinema seats as you watch One Life starring Anthony Hopkins.
The film features the story of Kindertransport, where Nicholas Winton, played by Hopkins, arranged for children from Prague to travel to places of safety, including Chislehurst in 1939.
There will be a brief introduction about the history of the building and the relevance of the film on show.
