Join us for an exclusive tour led by architects Studio Egret West and Barnet Council, offering a unique opportunity to explore the recently inaugurated Brent Cross West station. The station exemplifies how this new town is being reimagined with light, sustainability, natural materials and planting at the fore. The tour leads to The 108, Europe’s first indoor baseball and softball facility, which has transformed a run-down warehouse into a world-class sporting venue, encouraging participation in challenger and grassroot sport for communities in Barnet and beyond.
Concluding the tour, delve into a panel discussion led by Stephanie Hilborne OBE, Chief Executive of Women in Sport, in the Visitor Pavilion. The focus will be on creating places that contribute positively to people’s well-being and expand their opportunities. With long-term regeneration, how do we monitor the impact our projects are having and shape our approach in response to the evidence of how things are working? This session will use the Brent Cross Town Flourishing Index as a case study, sharing early findings and showing how the index is already shaping the creation of the £8bn, 180-acre park town in north London.
The panel will comprise:
Chair: Stephanie Hilborne OBE, Chief Executive, Women in Sport
Luke Ward, Director for Brent Cross Regeneration, London Borough of Barnet
Carolina Correia, Senior Social Value Manager, Related Argent
Tim Murray, Director, Moxon Architects
Dr Jamie Anderson, Research Fellow, University of Manchester and urban wellbeing lead at Buro Happold
