Join The DisOrdinary Architecture Project and Take Up Space in The Crossing at Central Saint Martins for a costumed symposium exploring the intersection of queer, trans, disabled and neurodiverse experience.
Creatures from the Queercrip Lagoon aims to make space to come together and have some fun, whilst recognising how we are affected by similar narratives of difference. It seeks to reimagine how we relate to and represent different ways of being.
The event will include a short film and discussion covering important themes around representation and paternalism in architecture. This will be followed by a swarming session to collectively take up space. The movement session will be gentle and relaxed so do not fear, you can do as much or as little as you want.
If you wish, come dressed as a lagoon creature, think netting, fishnets, scaly fabric and ruffles! This can be minimal; this can be maximalist.
