FindingYourPlace: the skills needed for a better built environment

24 June 2024

14:00 -18:00

It’s often assumed that as a cohort, NextGen are focused primarily on sustainability, inclusion, and purpose. And while this is not wrong, meaningful conversations about these topics can only be had in the context of meaningful conversations about power, politics, and money. This means giving NextGen the opportunities, skills and confidence to understand the sector at its fullest, their respective roles within it, and the many challenges and opportunities within.

This conference aims to look at talent in the built environment sector both in terms of individual expertise and career trajectories, and the role of cross-disciplinary thinking, and understanding of how skills and services are brought together to deliver a better built environment.

The event brings together NextGen professionals from across the built environment, including representatives from networks from across the industry and members of the wider NLA NextGen cohort. We’ll look at the importance of qualifications and technical expertise, the role of collaborators and generalists, and the balance and skills, experience and leadership needed, including through case studies and project examples.

If you are a member of a community group or charity, we have a certain number of free tickets available so please enquire via emailing events@nla.london.
