Do you pay attention to your body when moving through the city?
We often analyse the physical characteristics of urban space, yet our body is the site where our experience of the built environment is scored. If we consider our bodies as geography, how can we improve our understanding of lived experience and city making? How can we reimagine the city through our bodies?
Join Fi, a Geographer and Urban Designer, for a body mapping workshop in Fitzrovia. On a reflective 2-kilometre walk, you’ll create your own body map by populating outlines of bodies with words, drawings, and images to visualise your lived experience and identity in the city. Body mapping is grounded in social justice and intersectionality, amplifying marginalised voices and providing a canvas for representation and storytelling. All are welcome, sign up via Eventbrite to explore embodied urban research.
No knowledge necessary - just bring your body.
