Understanding the site and surroundings for a design project is an important part of an architect’s work. During this workshop, we will explore how architects use drawings to record the world around them— both in terms of what they see and how they choose to record it. Taking a concertina sketchbook from the Drawing Matter Collection by Peter Wilson (Bolles+Wilson), made in 1998 to represent a journey through the European landscape, we will make individual and collective drawings of the urban context around the London School of Architecture’s Dalston Pavilion.
The workshop is a taster session for those interested in applying to the Architecture Summer School presented by Drawing Matter in partnership with Kingston University, Hauser & Wirth, and the Zaha Hadid Foundation.
